5 Months

I am happy to say there is not much to report this month! We had a pretty uneventful month which we were thankful for! We made lots of great memories with our sweet son. Tim and I have said..."we think we are figuring out this whole parenting thing." :) One Sunday morning we were able to feed Owen, take a nap (all 3 of us), get ready for church and get out the door for church and we were 15 minutes early! We said we were a fine tuned machine....still trying to figure out how to get to work on time. I just have such a hard time saying bye to Owen (and Tim).

We participated in parent dedication at church on Father's Day. It was such a special time having our  family pray over Tim, Owen and me. The verse that we chose for Owen is:

"He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High, will abide in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say to the Lord, 'My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I will trust." Psalm 91:1-2

We could not desire anything more for Owen than to dwell in the shelter of the MOST HIGH and be in the shadow of the ALMIGHTY. Our prayer is that he will put his trust in God and allow God to be his refuge and fortress!

We had some very special visitors this month...Owen's Nana and 2nd cousin Eric came from Missouri. It was so special seeing Julie (aka Nana) and Owen together. She hadn't seen him since he was born! She was able to get lots of smiles and snuggles while she was here. Eric was so great with Owen too and Owen loved hanging out with him!

Here are the stats :)

5 Months
Length: 27 3/4 - (90-95th percentile)
Weight: 17 lbs (50-75th percentile)

Loves: TUMMY TIME....I know we are super surprised too, we can't keep him off of his tummy, eating, his play mat, playing on the exersaucer, Lily our cat...he LOVES to watch her and just laughs, reading books, his wubba nub (pacifier), the song Jesus Loves Me, swimming, trying to watch TV...he will turn his head in all directions to see what is on

Hates: nasal aspirator/snot sucker, Bumbo seat

Owen is wearing 3-6 months clothes with some 6 month onsies. He is wearing size 2 diapers. He still takes about 6 ounces every 3-4 hours. He has done great sleeping through the night. He will go about 10-7. On the 4th of July though he went 10-8! Tim and I didn't know how long it had been since we had slept until 8! Still takes his share of power haps but we can get at least one good 2 hour nap a day!

The big thing this month was him rolling over from his back to his stomach! Since he did it for the first time, he has not stopped! He loves being on his tummy. He will roll over to his stomach while he sleeps. He rarely sleeps on his back now...it's either his side or stomach (the dr. said it was ok). He is still SOOOOO happy! He smiles and laughs constantly. He always gives us these big mouth smiles.

Thank you Jesus for our sweet boy!! He is wonderfully made in YOUR image!
